The adoption of the Iraq Transitional Assistance Group as a
United States policy objective requires widespread public support.  That is, it will come as a result of our democratic process.  There are a number of things you can do to help influence this process, make the ITAG a reality, and bring our fighting men and women home.  Without your help, perhaps none of those things will happen.  No one has been able to bring the conflict to an end.  We need people who will help.  Ask yourself, “If not me, who will?”  Here are some ideas how you can be the one who helps end this conflict.

SPREAD THE WORD:  Talk to your family, friends, co-workers, fellow students—everyone you know—about the ITAG and encourage them to support the effort.  Write to your local paper so others learn about ITAG.  Tell them all how they can help.

LOBBY YOUR REPRESENTATIVES:  Write and call your congressional representatives in the House and Senate.  Ask them to support ITAG legislation to stabilize Iraq and bring about the safe and early return of U.S. forces. See our links page for access to the House and Senate web sites.

ENDORSE ITAG:  Draft and circulate petitions supporting ITAG.  Scan the petitions and send the electronic copy to submissions@iraq-itag.org to be posted on this site.

COMMENT:  Send us your thoughts and suggestions on the plan and on promoting the ITAG to Congress and the administration to comments@iraq-itag.org.  Essays in support of ITAG should be sent to submissions@iraq-itag.org.  All communication is subject to posting on this web site and should include the author’s correct name.
